FIFTH AVENUE HOTEL


This project transforms an 11 story 5th Avenue office building into a hotel and residences in a prime Manhattan location. Preserving the existing early 20th century masonry façade and structure, the interior will be refurbished with modern interiors, new elevators and state of the art energy conserving mechanical systems.

 

The existing top floor will be demolished and rebuilt as penthouse residences, encased in an undulating golden curtain wall that provides a beacon of light on Fifth Avenue, lighting the rooftop garden; with its bar, restaurant, and pool.  After dark the reflected light from the plants and the transfused light of the pool will spill out onto the avenue. At the street level pedestrians are entertained by glimpses into the lower level restaurant and bar.

 

The total floor area will be 150,000 sf of hotel suites, residential hotel suites, restaurants, pools, and support areas.

 
 

5番アヴェニューのホテル


このプロジェクトは11階建てのオフィスビルをホテルに作り変えるものである。既存建物はエンパイアステートビルの近く、5番アベニューに面して建っている。20世紀初頭に建てられた構造体と石造の外壁を保存しながら、内部壁は撤去、設備と垂直移動のためのコアが新たに加えられ、13500㎡のモダンなホテルに生まれ変わる。


後年増築された11階は完全に解体され、新しい11階がペントハウスのコンドミニアムとして加えられる。屋上はバー・レストランやプールなどをレイアウトした魅力的な庭園になる。黄昏のあと、庭園の木立からの照明の反射と、カーテンのような外壁ガラスからの室内の柔らかい光が5番アベニューに透けて出てくる。一階のロビーの床は大きく開けられて、地下に続くレストランやバーの魅力的な様子が歩道を歩く人々を楽しませる。
