Folding Blind


This is an application of folding art to create a blind.  Unlike a typical blind many beautiful and complicated pleats are possible.   The paper shrinks horizontally as it stacks vertically and the distance between the pulls also has to shift in order to move together with the paper. Instead, two identical folded papers are shifted and pasted together to create a space for the pull between the ridges.  The pulls are invisible from the outside. Miniaturizing the blind is also possible.
 
 

ブラインド

フォールディングアートのブラインドへの応用である。これまでのブラインドと異なり、複雑なパターンが可能になる。その一方で縦方向だけでなく、横方向にも伸縮するので、これまでのように羽根に中に糸を通すと、穴の間隔が変化するので紙とすれてしまう。そこで、二枚の合同な折られた紙の間をわずかにずらして張り合わせ、ずれた山々の間隙に糸を通している。そのため、糸は外からは一切隠れている。通常のロールブラインドのメカニズムに少し手を加えることで工業化が可能である。
